Own the Apex

Step Into the
Driver’s Seat.

Joplin's entertainment scene has arcades and bowling alleys, but nothing that puts you behind the wheel of a Formula car or a NASCAR stock car until now. Apex Racing Lounge brings professional-grade sim racing to Joplin, MO. With six simulators and a racing coach on-site, no one's left guessing where to start.

Own the Apex.

In racing, the apex is the single point in a corner that decides everything. Come in too early and you lose the exit, too late and you never really had the corner at all. Own the Apex is about hitting that point on purpose. That focus is what we teach every driver who walks through our doors, no matter where they're starting from. Our staff will help you choose a car and track and get you racing in minutes. No racing experience necessary.

Walk in on a random Wednesday, plan a date night with some friendly competition, or buy out the whole venue for your group. However you show up, you'll be racing fast.

What is Sim Racing

Sim Racing Is
Not a Video Game.

It's a professional-level training tool built to simulate real racing conditions, used by everyone from weekend hobbyists to professional drivers preparing for actual races. That said, you don't have to be chasing a racing career to enjoy it. It's also just one of the best weekend activities in town.

Things to do in Joplin tend to sound the same after a while. Ask around, and you'll hear the same short list every time. That list looks different once you've raced door to door with five friends on a professional simulator.

Our Simulators

Whatever brings you in, everyone races on the same equipment. Six simulators, side by side, built on professional-grade hardware:

  • TrakRacer Alpine TRX chassis with triple monitors
  • Heusinkveld sprint pedals, sequential shifter, and handbrake
  • Simucube 2 Pro R2 wheelbase with Rexing Mayaris 2 Formula wheel
  • D-BOX G5 4-motion actuator system
iRacing

We run on iRacing, the same platform used by professional racing teams, giving you access to a full commercial library of cars and tracks across Formula, GT/sports car, NASCAR, dirt oval, rallycross, off-road, and hillclimb disciplines.

Own an iRacing account? Log in and use our simulators at no extra cost, including for your own sanctioned leagues and events.

Who It's For

Anyone Who Wants
Behind the Wheel.

Apex Racing Lounge is built for anyone who wants to get behind the wheel, not just the crowd that already knows what an apex is. High schoolers and college friends make up a big share of our racers, but the age range doesn't stop there. We've seen everyone from teenagers to retirees strap in and race.

That includes women, who make up a real share of our racers. Sim racing gets pitched as a guy thing more often than it should, but it doesn't matter who's in the seat. The controls, the coaching, and the cars are the same for everyone who sits down. More than a few of our male racers have been surprised by how fast their friends picked it up.

The Lounge

Hang Out. Watch. Race.

Bring the whole crew, even if not everyone races at the same time. Our lounge area is built for hanging out between sessions, with two large TVs, a couch and chairs, and tables where your group can relax. Whoever isn't racing yet won't be standing around waiting.

Getting Started

Choosing Your
Car and Track.

With around 150 tracks and nearly as many cars on iRacing, picking where to start can be the hardest part of your first session. You don't have to figure it out alone. Leave it blank when you book, and your racing coach will help you choose based on your experience level and what you want to work on.

Birthday Parties

Bring the
Whole Crew.

Joplin doesn't have many birthday party ideas built for a 13-year-old who's aged out of bounce houses and arcade tokens. Apex fills that gap with racing-based parties starting at $349, built for teens and adults alike.

Both party packages include access to our PlayStation area, so younger siblings or guests who'd rather not race still have something to do. No one has to sit on the sidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions
Answered.

Everything you need to know before you strap in.

Do I need racing experience to book a session?

No. Our $35 introductory session was built for first-timers, and a racing coach is on hand for every booking to help beginners get comfortable fast!

I don't know which car or track to pick. What do I do?

Leave that field blank when you book. Your racing coach will help you choose the right car and track when you check in.

Is this the same as playing a racing video game?

Not quite. Sim racing runs on professional-grade hardware and software designed to simulate real racing conditions and physics, the same platform used for actual driver training. It's more precise than an arcade game, but you don't need any racing background to have fun with it.

Do I need a reservation, or can I just walk in?

Walk-ins are welcome, but booking ahead guarantees your spot, especially on weekends.

Can kids come along even if they're not racing?

Yes. Our PlayStation area is free to use, so parents can book a simulator session while kids play nearby.

Can I use my own iRacing account?

Yes, at no extra cost, including for your own sanctioned leagues and events.

What if I need to book outside your regular hours?

After-hours bookings are available case by case, based on simulator and staff availability. Call, text, or email to inquire.

Do you serve Joplin, Carthage, Neosho, and Webb City?

Yes. Apex Racing Lounge is located in Joplin, MO, and we regularly see racers from Carthage, Neosho, Webb City, and across the Four States area.
